The Brazel hat is a traditional beret worked in the round from the brim and up. It features a lace and bobble panel which continues partway into the crown. It is a timeless, feminine design with a contemporary twist.

The pattern is knitted in Malabrigo Rios, a well spun Worsted weight yarn.

  • Difficulty Intermediate — knit, purl, simple lace, simple increases and decreases and finishing.

  • Gauge 18 sts and 26 rnds = 4 in / 10 cm in St st on larger needles. Lace chart = 31/4 in / 8.25 cm wide. Adjust needle size if necessary to get the correct gauge.

  • Finished Measurements 16 (173/4, 191/2, 211/4) in / 40.5 (45, 49.5, 54) cm brim circumference; shown in size 173/4”

  • Fit The hat is intended to be worn with approximately 2 in / 5cm of negative ease.
