Bregne
This is a really simple, quick to knit hat that can be worn with the brim folded up or down which will change the amount of slouch. I designed this hat to highlight my hand dyed yarn, you can change the look quite a bit depending on your color choice.

Gauge: This depends on your yarn. For my hats it was 16 stitches to 4 inches/10 cm. If your gauge is different you will need to calculate a different number of stitches. The ribbing is in a multiple of 4 while the pattern is a multiple of 8. You may need to do some increases to adjust your stitch count when you begin the body of the hat.

Yarn: The brown and green hat was natural yarn from Scotland, dyed with bracken, indigo and osage (bracken is the light brown, the darker brown has an iron modifier, the green is osage overdyed with indigo). The white and multi colored hat was knit with Berroco Vintage Chunky . The amount of yarn needed depends on how many colors you have in the hat, you can easily use scraps for the chevrons. Even if you only use 2 colors you will only need one skein of each.

Pattern had an error and incomplete chart, its fixed now so should be smooth sailing…...
