Meet winter with style, in the classic and cozy Brennan Hat. It’s so cute, you’ll be saying, “Bring on the snow!”

Inspired by a hat I saw on the show “Bones”, this beanie will flatter most people. Just imagine hitting the slopes--or the mall--with this classic toque. Knit in the round from the brim up, there is no seaming and minimal weaving-in of ends.

IMPORTANT: I knit tightly, so it is extremely important that you check your gauge and adjust needle size as necessary to ensure a proper fit. (When I knit most other people’s patterns, I find I usually need to adjust 2 needle sizes to compensate.)

Skill Level: Intermediate. You should already know how to cast on, knit, and purl. All other stitches required are explained.

Sizes: In five sizes, right from infant (15”-17” head) up to Fezzik-size (22”-25” head). Finished crown heights given in pattern to make adjusting easy.

Requires: 1-2 100 g/3.5 oz balls (150 m/164 yds each) of aran/heavy worsted-weight yarn. I recommend wool. The sample was knit in Knit Picks’ “Andes del Campo” yarn. You will also need 5.0 mm (US 8) double-pointed needles, OR SIZE NEEDED TO OBTAIN GAUGE, and you could optionally use a 29” circular needle of the same size; small cable needle; yarn needle.
