<del>The year we first moved back to Vancouver Island, I started looking for a fair isle Christmas stocking pattern in November. It’s best to get started early sometimes, but I must not have been completely in the Christmas spirit because the snowflakes and cheesy Crayola green and red was not tempting me in the least. So I came up with this pattern featuring clouds, eagles, evergreens, whales and bears– suitable for a west coast green Christmas.

<del>As the stocking grew from my knitting needles, my husband commented that it reminded him of the fabulous sweatshirts featured in Flight of the Conchords. Now it will forever be to me “Bret’s West Coast Stocking”.
