Brick Knit Washcloth
So I have no idea what this stitch really is! I was trying to knit a brick stitch washcloth, but it looked awful with the Christmas yarn, so thought I’d try and improvise with doing the same thing, but with a knit stitch instead of garter. But then it turned out to sort of look like a wider honeycomb stitch!! Either way, I like it best for this yarn, which has been hard to get to look presentable with any pattern I’ve tried, as it just constantly pools. I couldn’t find a pattern like this where it allowed for a separate colour border.
You can use any cotton yarn you like in 10ply (worsted weight) and play around with the needled size and yarn weight, depending on the size you want. The cloth weighs approx 38g.
The middle pattern is 6sts so you can add 6, 12, 18 extra sts if you want a bigger cloth (than 21cm), but you’ll need to keep knitting past my instructions to make it square.
On the red edged cloth, I wanted to use up leftover red, so didn’t knit the last rows 4-8 before the border as I was running out of yarn! So it’s not quite square on that one.
