This really smart sports or walking suit presents no difficulties to the average knitter.

The materials required are 1lb. Beehive (or Paton’s super) Scotch fingering wool, 3-ply—the original was worked with 11 ozs. red (shade 197), 2 ozs. navy (shade 586), and 3 ozs. fawn (shade 511). Two No. 8 knitting needles, ½ yard sateen, ¾ yard elastic.

Measurements:—Jumper — Length from top of shoulder, 26 ins. Width all round at underarm, 39 ins. Length of sleeve from underarm (with cuff turned up), 17½ ins. skirt-width all round at lower edge (when pleated), 42 ins. Length as required.

Work at a tension to produce 7 stitches to the inch, measured over the plain, smooth fabric.
