Brightfeather is inspired by the soft lightness of feathers. I chose mohair silk yarn for this design because it was the closest fiber to feathers that I could think of - soft, fluffy, and so light. This sweater is knit in doubled mohair silk lace yarn at a sport weight gauge for a versatile garment with an extremely lightweight and soft fabric with a beautiful halo. This top down and seamless sweater is worked in the round in one piece. With one of my easiest color work charts charts yet, this pattern is suitable for beginners and the experienced alike. While I used doubled mohair to produce a sport weight yarn, this design also works well with a single strand of sport or fingering weight wool or wool blend yarn. You can check tester projects to see Brightfeather knit in all kinds of different yarns: some with doubled mohair, some with a strand of fingering held with a strand of mohair, and some with a single strand of sport or fingering yarn. With easy top down construction, you can try your WIP on as you go and add or reduce length for your best fit.
