This pattern has been discontinued. It may possibly be re-released in the future, but there are no immediate plans to do so.

Brigid (usually pronounced Breed and sometimes written Brigantia, Brigandu, Bride, or Brigit) is one of the most ancient and powerful figures in the Celtic pantheon. Brigid is a triple goddess and oversees healing, smithcraft, and poetry. In each of these guises she is strongly associated with fire. It is this association that inspired these socks.

This pattern was designed for the Imbolc / Candlemas installment of Gaia’s Colour’s Sacred Sabbats Yarn club. Imbolc is Brigid’s festival and is about keeping hope alive, even in the harshest part of the year, while waiting for things to grow again.

Spring will come. Until then, these will help keep you warm.

Top down sock with heel flap, charted stitch patterns.

The club exclusivity has expired and these are now available to all, enjoy!
