Bring me sunshine is the seventh in a series that makes up my Nature’s way blanket, and features a yellow sunshine against a blue background. It can be knitted as a square in a blanket, used as a wash cloth, or the chart can be extracted and used as a motif for jumpers and other items. When knitted in DK weight yarn, the finished square measures 10 inches (25 cm); the sunshine chart without the border is 45 sts by 63 rows. Both coloured and symbol charts are provided.

Note that in the sample, the sunshine is not vertically symmetric. This has been corrected in the final pattern.

Tools: 4 mm (US 6) needles; tapestry needle; bobbins for colour work; chart row marker (optional). For needles, size should be changed to match gauge (22 sts and 30 rows to 4 inches (10 cm)).

Materials: Any DK weight yarn in the following colours: Sky blue (or any other colour desired for the background, 60 m/65 yds), Yellow (40 m/45 yds).

The sample shown was knitted in Stylecraft Special DK in Cloud Blue (1019) and Citron (1263).

Difficulty: Experienced (knit, purl, more intricate intarsia)

Pattern Style: Charted; both coloured and symbols

Some references on how to knit intarsia are included at the end of the pattern.
