Something huge happened!
I’ve been dreaming of an oversized blanket for a while now, so I decided to have a go at making my own.

This blanket is a simple and highly addictive thing to knit, and is incredibly meditative too. It is the perfect project for brioche beginners, and for more experienced knitters. Simple in construction, this blanket lets your yarns shine and your mind rest. Collect your favorite sport, DK, aran, worsted or other weight yarns and knit the brioche blanket of your dreams. The result is like two different blankets because the fabric is completely reversible. This blanket was hard to put down!
BriocheStation Blanket is so versatile it can be used as a wrap / blanket / bedspread or even a shawl / scarf; it is totally adaptable. This pattern complements every home’s decor and wears just as beautifully as a shawl. I loved every single stitch of this blanket, and really hope you do too!
Warning … brioche is addictive!

The entire blanket is worked in an easy and meditative back and forth brioche stitch pattern from the bottom up in one piece, with little wavy edges. BriocheStation Blanket is so versatile it can be made to any length and width, in any color with any yarn. It is best to use yarns that are of a similar weight for best results.
The blanket is worked on a circular needle (back and forth as if working on straight needles) to accommodate the large number of stitches.
The pattern can easily be adjusted to any size by simply adding or reducing the number of repeat sections. It could even be scaled down to use as a baby blanket. The construction is very simple as the wrong side rows are worked with no increases or decreases. The pattern can be knit in any weight of yarn, over as many repeats as you wish (one repeat is 16 stitches wide) to make a small or large blanket or even scarf.

YARN: Aade yarn (100% wool, Solid),
100 gr (3.53 oz) - 267 m (292 yds)
Yarn hanks weigh between 150 gr/ 5.25 oz. – 300 gr / 10.5 oz. Aade is our local lambswool yarn.

YARN CONSUMPTION:
MC yarn: 3.5 skeins (508 gr / 1lb 2 oz - 1356 m / 1483 yds) Aade yarn colorway White
CC yarn: 3.5 skeins (508 gr / 1lb 2 oz – 1356 m / 1483 yds) Aade yarn colorway Light Green.
Or use any other DK weight yarn. Sample blanket weighs approx. 1016 gr / 2lb 4 oz.
Note that if you use different weight yarn or different needle size, the yardage, weight and dimensions of your blanket may differ from mine.

NEEDLES: 3.50mm (US 4), 100 cm (40“) circular needle, or size needed to get right gauge.
(Use a long circular needle to accommodate a large number of stitches.)

SKILL LEVEL: Adventurous Beginner.
You should be familiar with two-color brioche knitting (slipped stitches worked in conjunction with yarn overs).

FINISHED MEASUREMENTS:
Width: 124 cm / 49“
Length: 160 cm / 63“
Measurements taken from relaxed fabric after blocking.
Or simply adjust to your own preference, it’s easily customizable.

OTHER TOOLS: Tapestry needle; scissors; row counter (if needed); cable needle; blocking tools (wires and pins).

GAUGE: 17 sts x 19 rows = 10 cm / 4“ in two-color brioche stitch pattern after blocking.
Needle sizes are recommendations only. Always use the needle size necessary to achieve given gauge (to save your time). (My personal knitting tension is tight).

TECHNIQUES USED: Brioching back and forth, brioche decreases/increases (brLsl dec, brRsl dec, brk1, brp1, sl1yo).

And thank you again my dear test knitters. Without you, this pattern isn’t here ….
