This cowl is a wonderful topper to just about anything you might wear on a chilly day, whether it be casual or a bit more dressy. The finished product is soft and lofty, and it has a voluminous, cozy feel.
It is knit in the round from bottom to top. The cable repeats are more simple than the finished product suggests.

Notions: cable needle, stitch marker, and tapestry needle.

The cowl requires 2 skeins of Plymouth Yarn Homestead Tweed (Thistle is the colorway shown in the photos).

Both Aran and worsted weight yarns work well for this pattern. Please check gauge before knitting, especially if different yarn is used.

Enjoy!
