Briyoga Socks
Squishy toe-less/heel-less yoga socks featuring a simple brioche repeat
By Erin Turowski

Skill level: Intermediate to advanced. This pattern does not teach you explicitly how to knit brioche - I recommend Nancy Marchant’s Bluprint classes or books for excellent instructions on this beautiful technique.

I created these socks to keep my feet warm during yoga class and to also provide some traction on my yoga mat. The six-row repeating pattern is easy to memorize, and the brioche rib on the upper portion provides a comfortable fit around the ankle. The sole is smooth marled stockinette for comfort.

Yarn used:
Light Color (LC) - Zauberball Crazy in der Lenz ist da! (#2136), 459yd (420m)/170g (one skein - you will have extra)
Dark Color (DC) - Zauberball Crazy in U Boot (#1511), 459yd (420m)/170g (one skein - you will have extra)

Finished size (S, M, L):
M fits women’s size 9-11 shoe

Gauge:
28 st and 38 rows per 4” (10cm) in marled stockinette stitch in the round on a US3 (3.25mm) needle. I am a fairly tight English knitter, so you may want to go down a needle size, especially if you are a loose/continental knitter.

Notions needed:
-US3 (3.25mm) (or preferred size) 9” circular needle AND double-pointed needles (or you can knit the entire sock on double-pointed needles or longer needle for magic loop if you prefer)
-US5 (3.75 mm) (or preferred size) needle for casting on
-Removable stitch markers
-Tapestry needle
-Cable needle

Skills needed:
-Long-tail cast-on
-Joining and knitting in the round
-Two-color brioche - rib, cables, increases, and decreases
-Picking up stitches
-Stretchy bind-off, as the Simple Stretchy Bind Off from verypink.com https://verypink.com/2015/03/04/simple-stretchy-bind-off/
