July 2016: Brocade Neckwarmer has been overhauled to improve on some longstanding issues. The look has been improved, the chart has been updated with standardized symbols and layout, the construction has been simplified, and the instructions have been streamlined.

This is a simple neck warmer with an integrated loop at one end that the other end can be pulled through. It mimics the look of a scarf folded in half and looped through, but without all the bulk.

The ends are ribbed and the pattern is formed using slipped stitches in the “Tiny Brocade” pattern from Vogue Stitchionary v. 3.

Level: Beginner

Skills required: provisional cast on, modified 3-needle bind-off (instructions given), basic stitches

Yarn: Brocade Neckwarmer requires 2 colours of worsted weight yarn, approximately 95 yds/86 m of each.

Size: The patterned section of the neckwarmer is 5 1/2”/14 cm wide. The total length as written is 31 1/2”/79 cm but can be customized
