This pattern has an easy two color, four row repeat in a slip stitch pattern which breaks up the pooling found frequently in variegated yarns. It also has a wonderful squishy feel to it which makes for a hug for your legs and feet. This works well using one plain color and one variegated with plenty of contrast between the two for the best effect. It would also look cool in two solid colors! In the right colors it makes for a nice masculine sock.

Materials:
Yarn: Fingering weight yarn (50 grams color A (solid color) and 50 grams color B (a variegated yarn))

Needles and Notions:

  • 2.25mm (US size 1) circular needle or size necessary to achieve gauge. The pattern is written for magic loop but can easily be done using double point needles - just adjust your stitches accordingly.
  • Tapestry (darning) needle
  • Stitch markers (if desired)

Gauge:
8 stitches and 11 rows per inch knit (in both stockinette and in pattern) in the round.

Finished Size:
Small (64 stitches) and large (72 stitches)
