The rows per inch of your gauge is important for the button placement. This scarf is designed to be a snug fit around a 13-14” neck but it is possible to fit it to a larger neck by moving the buttonholes (suggested modifications are included in the pattern).

The suggested yarn is an acrylic but any worsted weight yarn that makes clean lines and gives good definition in rib/cables will work just as well.
