Bubinga - this wood has a warm, reddish colour and is used mainly as construction timber, for veneers and to make furniture. I love the look of Bubinga wood – and the name itself – so I knew, even before I started knitting this shawl, the name of it :-)

And like Bubinga with ist many variations of wood-grain, this shawl has many variations too:

~ color – uni, semi-solid, multi-colored
~ uni or striped
~ without any border (version A), with i-cord border (version B) or with lace border (version C)

gauge:
20 stitches x 40 rows = 10 x 10 cm (4 x 4“) with needle 3,5 mm
19 stitches x 38 rows = 10 x 10 cm (4 x 4“) with needle 4 mm
Because of the construction of the shawl, a gauge is not necessarily needed. ANY other gauge is also fine.

Bubinga – dieses Holz hat eine warme, rötliche Farbe und wird hauptsächlich als dekoratives Furnier für den Innenausbau, Möbel und Musikinstrumente verwendet. Da ich nicht nur die vielen verschiedenen Maserungen des Bubinga-Holzes mag, sondern auch den Namen, stand für mich schon vor dem Stricken des Tuches fest, wie es heißen würde :-)

Und wie Bubinga mit seinen vielen verschiedenen Maserungen und seinem unterschiedlichen Aussehen, hat auch dieses Tuch verschiedene Variationsmöglichkeiten:

~ Farbe – uni, semi-solid, bunt
~ einfarbig oder gestreift
~ ohne Kante (Version A), mit i-Cord-Kante (Version B) oder mit kleiner Lochkante (Version C)
