Four Butterflies surround the body of this cotton “bucket” style hat and are composed of small cables and yarn overs. The hat is knit in one piece from the brim up with the brim flaring out. The upper 1/4 of the brim can be considered part of the body as this is where it fits on head before flaring.

Each Section is charted and hat/brim stiffening instructions are also provided.

Alternate instructions for a wider brim (sun hat) are added beside the brim instructions.

Fits Infant (toddler, child, teen/small adult, adult regular)

Circumference 16” (17, 18, 19, 20”), 40.6 cm (43.3, 45.7, 48.3, 50.8cm)
Negative ease 1.5 – 3 inches (3.8 -7.6 cm)

Materials:
100 – 150 yards - 91.4m – 137 m of worsted weight yarn.
Recommended: Bernat Handicrafter yarn in cotton 4ply or a stiff/coarse yarn
US 7 – 4.5 mm or size needed to obtain gauge. Circular/Dpns needles, or magic loop method (min. 29” cable 73.5 cm)
