Budgerigars by Crochetroo

Budgerigars

This pattern is available from etsy.com for AU$6.00.

Did you know the budgie is actually an Australian Native bird and is the most popular pet bird in the world? In the wild they live amongst the grassy plains and open scrubland of inland Australia and gather in large flocks.

There are over thirty species of budgies that are available today and they are all descendants of the original light green coloured Australian budgie.
This pattern set includes full instructions for making a crocheted budgerigar. I have included excellent step by step photos. The budgie is worked in 8ply, double knit or worsted weight yarn using a 4mm hook. They are a great use of all those scraps of yarn as you have fun making your own mutations.

The finished budgie measure 17cm/7inches tip of tail to top of head, or 10cm/4inches when sitting. They are pretty much life size.

Instructions are provided in both Australian/ English and American terms. Patterns will be emailed to you in a pdf format.
