Building Blocks Sleeves
This pattern download comes includes the Building Blocks Legwarmers PDF as well!
These sleeves are knit in the round from the arm cuff down to the fingers with colorful stripes. Knit them long or shorten them by removing two of the blocks. The small sections are ideal for using leftover bits of worsted weight yarn.
Sizes: Small (Large)
Shown in Large size (ribbing with 5 bands of stripes and stockinette stitch). The small size is shorter with a smaller circumference including ribbing with only 3 bands of stripes and stockinette stitch.
Finished Measurements: 13 (17)“ / 33 (43)cm long from CO to BO. 8 (9)” / 20 (23)cm circumference (un-stretched).
Yarn: Worsted weight
Yardage: Approximately 225 (280)yds / 206 (256)m total
Color A - 130yds / 119m (2x2 ribbing shown in black & white)
Color B - 36 (52)yds / 33 (48)m (striped sections & thumb)
Color C - 32 (48)yds / 29 (44)m (striped sections)
Color D - 24 (48)yds / 22 (44)m (stockinette stitch sections)
Shown in: A variety of worsted weight yarns from Primrose Yarn Co., Jill Draper Makes Stuff, and Orkney Angora St. Magnus DK held together with lace weight mohair/silk.
The sample uses 7 colors. I recommend mixing various bits of worsted or aran weight yarns together for the playful stripes. DK weight would also work fine.
Needles: 40” US 8 / 5mm circular needle using magic loop method or DPNs
Notions: 1 stitch marker, waste yarn, tapestry needle
Gauge: 18 sts & 24 rows = 4” / 10cm in stockinette stitch
