This is my first written pattern in over 10 years. I based it on pictures I found on the internet of other similar hats. Any similarity to those patterns is coincidental because I didn’t actually read any of them.

This hat is made with 4 different yarns. 3 worsted weight and 1 fingering weight. The different parts of the hat are made using different combinations and numbers of yarns held together.

I’m gonna pretend like I chose these yarns on purpose with the intention of dyeing the hat afterwards to look like dinosaur skin, and I didn’t want the acrylic yarn to get dyed. So I used it for the ribbing and scales on purpose.

Let me know if I’ve screwed it up.
