Bumbleberry Bear is a very large bear! He measures 19 inches/48cm from head to toe. Talking of toes, he has very large feet, these measure 5 inches/13cm; I’m guessing he’s going just have to grow into those feet.

He/she comes with a choice of outfits, lovely baggy dungarees, complete with a tail gap and a sou’wester to keep the rain or sun off. Or if you prefer a little girl she has a sweet dress and matching panties, again complete with tail gap.

Suggested yarns
Any Aran/worsted weight is suitable for this bear; or
Peter Pan Precious (5 balls)
Wendy Eider (2.5 balls)
Katia Velour (3 balls)
Phildar Phil Nounours (6 balls)
Phildar Phil Douce (4 balls)
(All the above yarns knit easily on the suggested needle size of 3.5mm/4US)

If you would prefer to use Double Knit/Lightweight Worsted Weight please use needle size 2.5mm/2US for the bear and 3.5mm/4US for the outfits.

Bumbleberry Bear is knitted flat and assembled. Feet, legs and body are knitted as one piece. This pattern includes a very detailed step by step assembly guide, full of photos to help you create your perfect bear, to save ink and paper it is better to download this guide and view on screen when necessary.

If you wish your bear to stand comfortably it is important that you use plenty of stuffing and stuff the feet, legs, body and head firmly. Keep stuffing on the arms light.

Note to Knitter: Increases on this pattern are knitting into the same stitch twice (KFB); decreases are to work 2 stitches together.
