This sock pattern is a wonderful way to add an extra bit of sparkle to variegated yarn, which is often fun to knit but does not show well in complex patterns. The floating solid secondary yarn reminded me strongly of the patriotic bunting swags that are often displayed in the summer months. Although the pattern materials call for two different skeins of yarn, because you are alternating them, depending on the yardage of your skeins you will probably have enough yarn to make 2 pairs of socks!
