“I used to be Snow White, but I drifted.” – Mae West
But I Drifted is a one-skein shawl, beginning with a subtle edging and large-scale snowflake lace, flowing into a short-row stockinette body and finished off with a snowfall edge.

Finished Size: 18” depth, 60” wingspan

Yarn: Lorna’s Laces Set In Palladium (63% US Superwash Merino, 20% silk, 15% nylon, 2% silver), 420 yards/100grams. Sample knit in Lapis Lazuli. Sample used approximately 390 yards.

Needles: 32” circular needle, size 4 US (3.5mm), or size to obtain gauge. Every knitter is different.

Gauge: 26 stitches/30 rows per inch in wet-blocked stockinette
stitch; gauge is not critical for this item but will affect yardage and drape.

The body of this shawl is shaped by short rows using wrap and turn. If you are unfamiliar with the technique, follow the instructions below; also, several excellent video tutorials are available online.
