The side saddle stitch is a reversible crochet stitch that is made from a repeating pattern made up of a sc, ch-3 space, and a 4dc cluster. When a side saddle crochet piece is worked horizontally (the regular way it’s crocheted), the 4dc cluster stitches have a slanted appearance that changes direction each row. Working in the C2C crochet method allows for a more pronounced slanted effect. The clusters of one row are look vertical, while the clusters of the next row have a completely horizontal slant. This C2C stitch variation can be used with any yarn and hook size to create a wide range of things in various sizes, from the small (washcloths) to large (scarves, blankets).
