Constructed in the round from the bottom up to the underarms (UA) where sts are place on a holder for a square inset armhole. Back and front sts are continued by working flat. The neckline is also shaped with front sts place on a holder; there is no further shaping like the armholes. The rounded shape neckline happens as a result of gravity.

Shoulder sts are joined via 3 ndl BO and sleeves are knit up around the vertical edges of the armhole. Work the cap flat and join to UA sts with dec’s at end of each row, then worked in the round once the UA sts have been used up.

Sleeves have no shaping util the cuff where a drastic dec rate pulls in for the cuff.

This was published sometime in 1995 so the “December” is arbitrary month chosen since there’s no allowance for choosing just the year.
