The gauge is important for the shape, but the design is very stretchy. results will vary according to the type of yarn used.

You can use any dk yarn you like, but I recommend that you use a yarn with natural fibers and good ‘bounce’, rather than pure acrylic. The results will not only be nicer, with more definition of cabling, but also the hat will be warmer and more practical for chilly winter days. Alternatively, you could make it in cotton. this a lovely, stylish design for anyone recovering from chemo. If you want to make this hat for charity, please get in touch before purchasing the pattern.

The hats can be knitted flat (you sew a seam at the back) OR in the round - instructions for BOTH techniques are given in the pattern.

Suitable for improving beginners used to basic cabling. Should be familiar with basic knitting pattern terminology, and working with patterns that provide instructions for multiple sizes.
