This cowl was designed with the thick fog and windy hills of San Francisco Bay in mind. Quick to knit, it’s also a great project for beginners or for anyone wanting to explore cabling. I’ve purposely left gauge off this pattern as cabling gauges can vary so much with the type of yarn and the knitter’s own tension. Experiment with what you like best! Change it up however you wish: add more cables to make it longer, hold thinner yarn double for a marled effect. Stitch the ends together for a continuous loop or add buttons and button holes to bling it up!

Note: I made this for an average-sized adult and used just over one ball of the suggested yarn. Therefore my estimate of between 63 - 100m of yarn total is just a guess - make sure you have plenty, especially if you want an extra-loose version.
