There seems to be a problem with stitch pattern for the Long Cable, both in the Poncho and in the Scarf. Here is the way Row 2 (Round 2) should read:

First when working the Long Cable in the poncho, working it back and forth, flat. There are 27 sts between 2 stitch markers and Row 2 & all WS rows should read: K3, p3; repeat from to last 3 sts before marker, end K3.

When working it on the scarf - working in the round. There are 27 sts between 2 stitch markers Round 2 and all even rounds should read: P3, k3, repeat from to last 3 sts before marker, end p3.

I hope this clears any problems you have with the pattern.
