Pattern is a sleeveless pullover vest with cable and rib features, with a knitted on 1x1 ribbing edge at the neckline and armholes, originating from a Women’s Weekly leaflet from approximately 1920s-1930s.

The gauge given in the pattern is 5st=1inch,

The measurements given in the pattern are 30”-38” around the chest, 21” from shoulder seam to hem, and 14” from armhole to hem. There is only one size in the pattern due to the stretchiness of the finished fabric. To size up, cast on extra in multiples of 10 and increase length to armhole as desired. Extra repeats can be worked after the neckline shaping to increase armhole and v-neck sizes.

The yarn recommended in the pattern is no longer available, but can be subbed with any heavy DK or light worsted (10-12 wpi). It uses around 750m of light worsted.

Particularly good for solids with a sheen.
