Double-stranded 100% cotton yarn creates the interesting basket weave design of this extremely durable and stable, yet collapsible bowl/basket.

The square seed stitch base (worked flat) provides a solid foundation for the bowl; stitches are picked up from the base, and the cable pattern works upward in-the-round to the I-cord bound off top rim.

Instructions are given for working the cables with a cable needle…or my preferred method, without a cable needle by just slipping the stitches and manipulating them at the ends of your needles.

Smaller needles are used for the base of the bowl. Larger circular needles are needed for the sides of the bowl - length 16” or longer if you like to work using the Magic Loop method.

In addition to your knitting needles, you’ll need a removable stitch marker.

When filled with baked goods or yarn, this bowl/basket makes a welcome gift. An added bonus…it’s washable and dryable!
