From Vogue Knitting:

Then… And Now!

The great white cabled pullover, above, is from an original Vogue Knitting issue Fall/Winter 1963. Those of you who have saved that magazine can turn to page 44, and see the sweater, the exact photograph of which is reproduced above. On the right is our 1983 re-knit of the sweater following the same instructions (see page 147). The same small cable within a larger cable pattern; the same bateau neckline framed in ribbing; the same ribbed sleeve and hem ribbing. Naturally, it’s just as easy to knit, too! This one in a handsome wool yarn by Rondo. It was stated then, that “no collection of sweaters is authoritative without the great white cable”…we say it again, now! More reason for the pride we take in the enduring quality of Vogue Knitting.
