This beautiful toe up cable and beaded stocking will become a cherished holiday addition. It is a generously size stocking at 7.5” wide and 21 inches long from cuff to toe. But who doesn’t love a big stocking. Knit it in your favorite sportweight/dk yarn.

Worked with magic loop, two circulars, or double pointed needles, sock knitters will find their comfort zone. Directions include photos of unfamiliar techniques, charted cable and written out directions for the stocking construction with many tips included. The short row heel blocks out beautifully and very detailed directions are included for those who have never knit a short row heel. A simple i cord hanger will be added after the stocking is complete and you can even line the stocking. Directions for that are included in the pattern.

I chose a rugged sportweight from Bartlett yarns because I loved the rustic feel of the yarn while knitting and blocked beautifully. However, no one else used that. Use what you have on hand! Or better yet, spin your own yarn and enhance the heirloom quality even more.

The charted cables are easily memorized and in the words of ALL the test knitters “ This is really fun project to knit“

Available as KnitPicks IDP selection.
