The festive season is upon us! I love Christmas. The run up to Christmas is a very special time and I normally spend it slowly decorating the house with lights and tinsel and handmade decorations. The Christmas tree comes next and that’s a pretty little project. And finally comes the wreath for the front door, to welcome one and all. This year I wanted a very special wreath. I searched high and low for inspiration and eventually decided to design my own after settling on a cable design I found in a stitchionary.
I hope you enjoy making yours too!

This is a cabled wreath pattern knit from top to bottom and forwards and back. Once completed, it is stretched and pinned into place around a polystyrene circular form.

You knit until the piece measures long enough to stretch around the form.

You will need a polystyrene wreath form, pins and additional 4ply or dk yarn in red and green if you decide you make your own holly leaves and berries decorations.

You can also use additional decorations like a ribbon to hang your wreath.
