Matching cowl and hat in a whimsical cable pattern. The cowl comes in three different sizes, and is shown in the shoulder cowl size. The hat is a modern slouch with a doubled over brim for stability.

To fit adult, 18” brim, 23 ½” circumference

Materials
580, (1080, 1344)—yards for cowl with yarn held double stranded. I used Lotus Yarn Tibetan Cloud Worsted (328 yards each)—2, (3 (see note), 4) skeins.

  • US size 9, 40” length circular for cowl
  • US Size 9-24” circular and size 9 double points for hat

(note)The middle size cowl took exactly 3 skeins, so be aware you may need more yarn if your gauge is slightly different.

Gauge
16 sts, 24 rows =4” in st st on size 9 needles, 4 sts = 1” in 2x2 ribbing on size 9 needles.
