Like Traffic or Weather on the “8’s” sometimes you just want a quick run down of the relevant information. Mirrored twists and cables allow beginners to practice the basic elements of cabling while maintaining interest for more experienced knitters.

Gauge: 22 stitches and 35 rows per 4 inches in stockinette or 28 stitches and 35 rows per 4 inches in cable pattern, blocked

Sizing: At gauge the mitts have a circumference of 7 inches (Adult S/M). The ribbed nature of the cables gives a bit of stretch and the stockinette palm allows for sizing up or down as desired.

The pattern calls for DPNs but is easily adapted to other methods of knitting in the round as the cable pattern is worked over approximately half of the total stitches.
