Knit Picks’ Wool of the Andes Tweed provides the perfect weight, texture, and color interest for this knitted unisex cadet cap.

The flat top is worked from the center outward in a non-uniform increase pattern – the result is a very natural looking appearance without the familiar “floral” look created by spiral increase lines!

The amount of structure of the hat is flexible: it can be more structured with an inserted circular foam support for the crown or less structured without inserted support. The brim does include a foam support - there is a template in the pattern for the brim.

A fold-under twisted-rib facing provides grip and stability at the bottom edge.

Needles: a set of #4 DPNs and a #4 circular needle , 24” length.

Strongly suggest a tweed yarn to minimize increase stitches’ appearance in the crown - check out Wool of the Andes Tweed - fabulous yarn!
