I’ve always loved the combination of deep, dark red with an icy blue, and in designing the colors for my WEBS/Manos yarn I absolutely had this hat in mind.

The rich background of the red allows for the soft hue of the blue to really stand out in this delicate pattern. The intricate design in these colors reminds me a bit of stained glass, and results in a hat that should turn a few heads.

The motif is easy to follow once established, and the depth of the hat allows for enclosed diamonds at center, bordered on top and bottom by half medallions that blend into both the ribbing and the crown shaping. I especially love the simple effect of the decreasing design at top. Notes on adjusting for width/depth are in the pattern.

Colors shown: With a Cherry and Shaken.

Note: Hat requires about a half skein of each color, and you should be able to knit another hat in reverse colors if making the small or medium sizes.
