When I visited California I found this beautiful flower called California Poppy. In Sweden it’s called Sömntuta (Sleepyhead!) and it does not grow wild as in California. My grandmother used to grow them in her garden, so it has a special meaning for me.

I have designed a sock called Poppy for a couple of years ago, with the red flower we call Poppy (or Vallmo in Swedish) here in Sweden, so of course I had do design one for the California Poppy too!

You use stranded knitting in this sock, cuff - down, and the pattern is written for using the Magic Loop technique.

Sizes: 37/38 (US 7/8) 39-41 (US 9-11)

Jag besökte Kalifornien och upptäckte att den Sömntuta som mormor odlade hemma i Sverige är Kaliforniens statsblomma! Den hör till vallmosläktet och växer vilt där, till skillnad mot i Sverige. Jag har tidigare gjort en socka med Vallmo, så då måste jag så klart göra en med Kalifornisk vallmo också!

Det finns två storlekar i mönstret; 37/38, 39/41 och den stickas uppifrån och ner.
