The mittens are worked in the round from cuff to tip in the stranded colorwork technique. The pattern is carried over the gusseted thumbs of the mittens. The cowl begins with a provisional cast-on and is worked in solid-color bands alternating with stranded colorwork bands. One end is turned once, then the ends are joined using Kitchener stitch, forming a Möbius twist. The color patterns are given in chart form only.
