The shawl is worked in one piece starting with a short cast on and ending at the other side with a k3 together. The shawl is knit in 3 sections (increase, centre, and decrease). Each section uses approximately 1/3 of the yarn. Beads (optional) are placed along the spines of the leaves in the lace edging.

There is some patterning on the wrong side rows.
Only charts are provided.

The colour of the yarn reminds me of the calluna (heather) in our garden.

The sample was knit with a single skein of the buffalo silk yarn.
The shawl can be easily enlarged (with additional yarn) by doing more repeats of the increase portion along with the corresondping additional repeats of the decrease portion.

The shawl is done in laceweight, but a light fingering (or heavier) yarn can also be used.
