The Calypso 2019 Crocheted Afghan:

For some, the name “Calypso” invokes shades of mystery and the unknown; perhaps the Greek nymph like Goddess who held Ulysses captive on the island of Gozo for ten years; maybe the other legend – that of the Cousteau ship once sailed by the highly revered seaman Jacques – Yves Cousteau. For most it likely symbolizes the ever echoing pan sounds of afro-caribbean music complete with females in bright colored skirts – whirling like the wind around a blistering fire on a sandy beach in Trinidad. Like lace eyelets dancing around a fire – the colors and patterns in this afghan spin and whirl – around and around. The combination of ivory lace swirled with honey highlight the afghan as it flows and undulates – dances – like the music of Trinidad – it tickles the mind and tingles the soul.
