Blue sails skim an enchanted sea in these fun toe-up socks! Unusual gusset placement results in a sock that hugs the arches and cups the heel of your foot. Having just read the Percy Jackson series, the pattern reminded me of Calypso marooned on her island.

These socks are well suited for any solid, semi-solid or muted multi-colored sock yarn.

Pattern includes both written and charted instructions. Techniques used include: twisted stitches, yarn overs, make one increases, and k2tog, ssk, and p2tog decreases. Either Turkish, Figure Eight or Judy’s Magic cast-on may be used, but specific instructions are not included for these techniques (a big thank you for those that made the tutorials available!).

Note: I have corrected the Calypso chart legend (legend only) and have posted a picture of the revised legend in the pattern photos to the left. I am sorry for any confusion this may have caused. (10 Sep 2010)
