This is a hat with classic leaf motifs. The leaf resembles Camellia leaf, which are thick ,serrated and glossy.
Camellia is the name of a gorgeous flower tree, known as TUBAKI (椿) in Japan.
This is such an old plant that it is referred to in the oldest collection of Japanese poetry ( Manyoshu (万葉集, ranging from AD 347 through AD 759).

I added long and flowing stems stretching towards the top to give the hat life.

Both written and charted directions are provided for the body.

Child--- Brim circumference 35cm/133/4” un-stretched to a max of 60 cm/231/2” stretched. 18cm/7” from CO to top.
Adult--- Brim circumference 44cm/17 1/4” un-stretched to a max of 68 cm/26 3/4” stretched. 23cm/9” from CO to top.
