Camille Dress
Knitting Pattern for an Elegant and Reversible Dress with an Overlapping Back Part in Sizes XS | S | M (L | XL | 2XL) 3XL | 4XL | 5XL.
Structure:
The dress is worked in stockinette stitch with raglan increases from the top down. First, both shoulder panels are worked separately to shape the round neck along the front part and the overlapping V-neck at the back part. When the front parts are joined in the middle of the neckline, the yoke of the dress is worked with classic raglan increases in the right side rows and with additional increases to shape the deep V-neck of the overlapping back parts. Then, the sleeves are separated from the body and the upper body part of the dress is finished with increases for the overlapping back part only. When you have reached your waist, the back panels are knitted together for the wrap look and the stitches are bound off with an I-cord edging. Then, new sts are picked up along the I-cord edging and the body of the dress is worked in stockinette stitch in the round with increases for the hips along both sides of the dress. When you have reached the middle of your upper legs, bind off all sts with an I-cord edging as well. Now the sleeve stitches are picked up again and the sleeves are worked in stockinette stitch in the round. Shortly before the wrists, work a few decreases and then, bind off the remaining stitches with an I-cord edging. Last but not least, stitches are picked up along the round neck and the V-neck of the back part and then bound off with an applied I-cord edging as well for the cleanest finish. If preferred, you can thread an elastic band through the I-cord edging along the waist from the inside of the dress to add a little bit more shaping and stability to the dress. The fit of the dress is slightly fitted to slightly oversized around the bust, so that the overlapping back part seems to be quite loose. If preferred, you can wear the deep V-neck at the front as well. The skirt part of the dress is relatively wide due to the increases for the most comfortable feeling when walking, dancing and celebrating life!
