Cancer Ribbon Filet Square Afghan
The above pattern is a derivative of Mary Maxim’s Cancer Awareness Afghan (kit) designed by Cheri Jackson, adapted with permission from Mary Maxim. It is to be used for personal or charity purposes only and should not be shared in the Files section of e-mail lists.
This particular version uses 10 ribbon squares and 10 plain squares, taking nine 6-ounce skeins of Mary Maxim Best Value pink yarn (color #736614). You can use this pattern to make different sizes. I have done 9, 12, and 20 square ghans. You can make 2 1/2 squares out of one skein. Don’t forget to order enough yarn for your border.
The squares were assembled with a whipstitch with a picot border (sc, ch 2, sc) in same st added
I used a G hook for my foundation chain, an H hook for the body of the square, and a G hook for the border. Changing hooks depends on your personal crochet tension.
