I was working on some socks and just couldn’t get the candy canes to look the way I wanted them to. After frogging a few times, I decided to work various ideas with dishcloth yarn. Here’s the result. It made such a nice dishcloth, imho, that I decided to publish the pattern.

The design is worked on the purl side of the cloth with various 2-st cables and twists plus some cabling involving just purl sts – yielding 6 candy canes. Each candy cane is 18 rows high and 13 sts across. The cane patterns overlap a bit, giving a pattern repeat of 12 rows. The cloth has a 4-st garter stitch edging.

I’ve proofed the pattern just twice. Please tell me about any corrections that need to be made. Thanks.
