If you are like me, when spring comes along and I shed my heavy winter sweaters and coats, I have a hard time giving up wearing hand knits! I really miss my shawls and warm scarves. Candy Necklace is the perfect Spring and Summer solution for this. It’s a cute little scarf that can be worn with everything from a dressy t-shirt and jeans to a blouse at the office. It looks adorable with a jacket on a breezy day, and is small enough to tuck into your purse in case you get a chill at the movies this summer.

A easy lace edging is knit first. Stitches for the body of the scarf are picked up along the edge. Simple short rows make up the body with an easy picot bind off for a feminine top edge.

Charted and written directions are included in the pattern along with a blocking schematic and diagram for finishing.

This pattern looks great in variegated, semi-solids and and solid color yarn. If you have been wanting to try lace or shawl knitting and find it intimidating, this simple to knit lace edged scarf is a great way to start!
