Emma Swan may not allow Captain Hook to pull off dashing rescue of her, but he is a dashing fellow all the same!

The pattern for Captain Hook is not a great beginner project, but it’s not all that challenging, either. Instructions are clear, and photos abound. Required stitches include sc, HDC, DC, and sl st. HDC and DC decreases are also used, but instructions are included in case you don’t have those decreases memorized. You will need two kinds of black yarn: A baby soft black, as well as a standard (worsted or DK) black. In addition, you’ll want red, brown, a bit of gray or silver for the hook, and whatever color you use to represent Caucasian flesh. To get the look of Hook’s baby blues, I chose 15mm safety eyes.

The coup de grace for this ami is the bling, baby! You can embellish Hook with beads or embroidery thread, but personally, I like fabric paint. It allows you to make his earring, necklace, buttons, and belt buckle. Heck, you can even add guyliner! Having played the field, I prefer Tulip brand (no, they don’t pay me, but they’re welcome to start), and on this ami, I used silver, gold, and black.
