Cardiff is the capital and largest city in Wales and the tenth largest city in the United Kingdom. The city is Wales’ chief commercial centre, the base for most national cultural and sporting institutions, the Welsh national media, and the seat of the National Assembly for Wales. The city of Cardiff is the county town of the historic county of Glamorgan (and later South Glamorgan). Cardiff is part of the Eurocities network of the largest European cities. The Cardiff Urban Area covers a slightly larger area outside of the county boundary, and includes the towns of Dinas Powys and Penarth. A small town until the early 19th century, its prominence as a major port for the transport of coal following the arrival of industry in the region contributed to its rise as a major city.
For me it is about the beauty and the people, and Millennium Stadium, where rugby is played. The Welsh
have a mighty team but I always cheer for the Irish. Millenium Centre is an amazing building with saying
“Within these stones horizons sing”in both Welsh and English. It is an amazing city that holds a portion of my heart. These kilt hose tell a story , the centre stitches are the hills upon which Cardiff Castle sits, the lace cable signifies the openness and friendliness of her people and the cables down the side and centre back signify although Cardiff is a newer city by many standards she blends the traditional and the modern through the grace and beauty of her architecture and her people. This is for Cardiff and I hope you will go see her beauty, meet her people and fall in love with her uniqueness.
