THOUGH the pattern of this practical cardigan suggests that it should be knitted in brown wool with contrasting, high-necked front, it would look equally attractive in navy blue or any of the season’s popular colours.
A pleat from the shoulder line at the back and front gives comfort and freedom of movement, which would make it a useful sports garment or to give extra warmth for indoor use on chilly days. The introduction of crochet edging makes it just a little different.
MATERIALS: 16oz of 4-ply wool, brown; 2 No. 10 needles; medium-size crochet-hook; 3 buttons.
MEASUREMENTS: Bust, 35-36 inches; length from shoulder to lower edge, 23½ inches; sleeve along seam, 20 inches.
